(Pittsburgh, PA - April 15, 1999) - Four years after creating a popular regional show, "Internet Insider - Radio with Byte!" goes national with radio stations in several major markets. The show will be heard live in the top 4 media markets - New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco.
"It is very important to us to work with quality radio stations throughout the country," said David Radin, host of Internet Insider and president of M. Masters Corporation, the company that produces the program. "Our premier affiliates are among the best stations in the country and in strategic markets for computer users."
In San Francisco, the fourth largest market, KTCT "The Ticket" will broadcast the show. The station, known for its sports programming, is the flagship station for Stanford University Sports and has recently become the sole flagship for the Oakland Raiders.
In Chicago, the third largest market in the country, the show will be heard on another CBS station, WCKG "The Package". This station features several of the top talkers including Howard Stern, and Steve Dahl.
In Los Angeles, the second largest market in the nation, Internet Insider will be heard on KRLA, a CBS station. The station has recently attracted the top talent from a top cross-town rival, and is building a franchise that is expected to be second to none in the area. It's talk line-up now includes Don Imus, Michael Jackson, and Dr. Toni Grant.
All three stations will broadcast the show live at 8 a.m. in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and at 10 a.m. in Chicago.
In New York, the largest market in the nation, Internet Insider will have two stations. Internet Insider will be broadcast on Sunday mornings on 77 WABC, the most listened-to talk station in the world, and live on Saturday mornings at 11 a.m. on WWRL, an independent station.
"We're gratified by the response from these industry leading radio stations," said Radin. "We look forward to working with them and to signing up other great stations around the country to provide blanket coverage with our show."
M. Masters originally produced a radio show that started in 1994 called "KDKA Radio Online." According to the host, the show used the word online in the title instead of the word Internet because at the time, there was question as to whether the Internet would actually take off. "That seems like ancient history now" says Radin. When he decided to take the show national in 1997, he moved it to cross-town radio station WTAE (now WEAE) to provide a good base for testing the appeal of the show.
