KDKA AM 1020 to Launch Weekly Computer Show Focusing on the Ever-Growing Internet

"KDKA's Internet Insider Pittsburgh" debuts August 7

It's one of the fastest-growing industries on earth: the Internet. Now, Pittsburgh's number-one Radio Station, KDKA, will offer listeners the opportunity to learn about and discuss the Internet on a weekly basis.

"KDKA's Internet Insider", presented by The Pittsburgh Technology Council, will debut August 7th on KDKA Radio. The one-hour program will be co-hosted by Rob Pratte and local computer expert David Radin. The show will air Saturdays at noon.

"Web sites, e-commerce and the like are growing at an enormous pace," said KDKA Radio Vice President and General Manager Michael Young. "We at KDKA Radio want to give our listeners a forum with which they can grow along with this technology".

"KDKA's Internet Insider" will feature listener call-ins, focus on all aspects of Internet technology and will present features including The Internet Frustration Buster™, The Insider Tip, and the WOW (Website of the Week). Listeners will also be able to visit insiderradio.com after each show to get additional information. Plus, executives from the Pittsburgh Technology Council will appear on the show monthly, to talk about technology issues that relate specifically to Western Pennsylvania.

David Radin, the show's co-host, is an Internet pioneer, author, speaker, and 20 year industry veteran whose opinions have been quoted in leading publications such as Fortune and New Science.

"'KDKA's Internet Insider' will help computer users get more out of the Internet and their personal computers. But more, we'll expose listeners to related issues of particular interest to Pittsburghers," said Radin.

Kevin O'Neil, Vice President of Marketing Communications for The Pittsburgh Technology Council, expressed excitement about the Council's involvement. "'KDKA's Internet Insider' gives The Council a terrific platform to raise awareness within Western Pennsylvania of the technology industry and the important part it plays in Pittsburgh and its economy."

There will also be a separate, syndicated version of the program, hosted by David Radin. "Internet Insider" will be a nationally syndicated version of the KDKA program and will originate from KDKA studios. "I'm very pleased to be working with KDKA on this venture," Radin said. "KDKA offers the perfect forum to take advances in Internet technology to computer experts and novices alike."

KDKA AM 1020 is Pittsburgh's number-one rated radio station and is owned and operated by CBS/Infinity Broadcasting.
