Can I get a member of the Insider Team to speak at my event?
Why do you broadcast Internet Insider, anyway?
It's simple. The Internet is an exciting tool, and we think that radio audiences deserve an exciting radio show about the Internet. What's more, many users have the same questions - whether they're about finding information faster, getting their computers to act the way they should, or doing business in, on, or around the Internet. We promised to keep our show as entertaining as it is enlightening. That way you can get more out of it - because you'll listen better (not to mention the fun you'll have).

How long have you been doing this?
A long time in Internet years. For that matter, a long time - period! David Radin, our Internet Insider Host, and the President of our company, for instance spent 7 years in radio before spending 20 years in the computer industry. He's been doing Internet shows since 1994, when he co-hosted "KDKA Radio Online". ("We didn't know yet whether the Internet would take off, so we didn't use Internet in the title.") Cindy Harris has been teaching computer and Internet related topics for 2 decades also. Dave Taylor and Jim Heid have been computing and writing for those same two decades. And Dean Trew, one of our key business managers, has been in the radio business for over a decade. You can find their bios in our About Us section of this website.

How do I recommend a web site for WOW (Website of the Week) or inclusion in a Stellar list?
The Internet has gotten so big, that we can't possibly find out about and visit every web site in the world. So if you tell us about the particularly good ones, it helps. Drop a line to Andrea Goldberg (andrea@insiderradio.com). She compiles the Stellar lists and WOWs. Tell us why your suggestion is so compelling. And if it's your own website, please let us know that too. We have ways of finding out; and if we think you've deceived us, we won't take too kindly to your submission.
We try to keep our Stellar lists timely, and in many cases seasonal. You'll usually find at least one business related list and one home related list for each weekly show. Our WOW almost always comes from one of our Stellar lists. If you would like to see us cover a specific topic for our Stellar picks, please Andrea know which topic you want us to cover. We aim to please.

How do you select your guests?
We try to make sure that our guests are charismatic, because a charismatic guest is more fun to listen to on live radio. But just as importantly, they must have something to say that we think is important to our listening audience. Sometimes they share unique perspectives or a keen vision of where things are going. Other times, they can introduce us to a new product or service - or give us more information about a product that many of us use.
It's important to note that we make independent decisions about our guests and our advertising. Once in a while we feature a guest that also is an advertiser; but that's because we think the guest adds perspective and interesting information for our show. Once in a while, we feature competitors to our advertisers too. If a guest is from one of our advertisers, we'll let you know - although in most cases, you'll know it from the commercials. Once in a while, a correspondent or guest has been furnished by an advertiser or partner as part of the deal. We'll make sure that you know that too.

How do I become a guest or suggest a guest?
All guests are personally interviewed in advance of the live appearance by our show programming staff. Every week we hope to locate and book expert guests from both industry and the everyday world of the Internet. If you'd like to suggest an engaging and informative guest, simply fill out our guest suggestion form to submit your idea.

How can I get my product, or service featured?
First we have to know about it. Send us a short email or fill out our form. Make it brief and state the benefits to our listeners up front - so we know why we should feature it without spending lots of our time getting through a poorly written message. If you think we should examine it, send it to us via U.S. Mail. We do not accept attachments to emails. In fact we don't even open them. And we typically don't go to the web to download software. We like to share information on great websites, software, hardware, services, and products that can make the lives of our listeners easier.

Can I get a member of the Insider Team to speak at my event?
Insiders do make special appearances at conferences, trade shows, seminars, and other events. Plus we keep an active schedule of public events throughout the country. We let you know about public events on our website and via our radio show. If you want to request one of the Insiders to appear at your event, conduct a class or give a presentation or seminar, contact Dean Trew at 412-481-3800 ext. 10 (dean@insiderradio.com). If this is an event in which you want to invite the public, we can even arrange a special tie-in promotional package with our affiliate radio station in your city. Call for details.
