PITTSBURGH, PA., September 15, 1999 -The largest integration of radio content with Internet content has begun with a one-hour syndicated program on leading radio stations in the largest markets in the United States. Radio stations in the nine largest markets are now broadcasting "Internet Insider with David Radin - Radio with Byte!". The show integrates Internet with radio in several ways: by providing Internet information for the masses; by integrating the content from the radio show with its web site (http://www.InsiderRadio.com); and by linking multiple radio broadcast streams with a single radio program.

"As people begin to use the Internet in their everyday lives, they want a trusted source to provide them with important information about how to take better advantage of the Net." said David Radin, host of the show. "Internet Insider provides that information, as well as gives them the incentive to go to the web to find out more."

According to Tim McCarthy, General Manager of WABC Radio who airs Internet Insider in New York City, "Internet Insider is presented in an entertaining format. It helps break down the barriers that keep people from jumping on the net."

Internet Insider is a live, one-hour weekly talk show about the Internet. It provides tips, tricks and techniques for end users to use at home and at the office. The broadcast combines phone-calls from listeners with special features and guest interviews. Features include "The Internet Frustration Buster"!, Insider Tips, and handpicked lists of Stellar web resources. Recent and scheduled guests include the Chief Strategist from Netscape, the Chief Executive Officer of Corel Corporation, a Grammy-nominated musician, and the Sun Microsystems scientist who created the Java computer language. .

Listeners are directed to InsiderRadio.com, where they can receive supplementary information, step-by-step details, and direct links from the material discussed during the radio show. They can also sign up for a free Insider TipLetter, delivered weekly via email.

The radio show can be heard on FM and AM signals, covering more than 60 computer markets including the top nine radio markets, plus via the Internet using streaming audio. In five of those nine markets, the show airs on the #1 station in each market. In a unique arrangement, Internet Insider's web streams are actually provided via several of the radio stations that broadcast the show across the nation, which has the added benefit of allowing listeners to hear a version with some localization. The show can be heard on the Internet four times every weekend via four RealAudio streams, one Windows Media Player Stream, and one Web Radio stream. While no archive is currently available, the producers expect to soon launch on-demand web streams with in-depth information based on, but different from, the content of the radio show. Additional web audio is being developed for InsiderRadio.com using technology from Beatnik.

"When David first brought the idea to me, I knew it was a natural," said Michael Young, General Manager of KDKA Radio in Pittsburgh, the station from which the show originates. "He had already successfully developed an engaging show at KDKA about the Internet, and it seemed likely that a national version of the show would be a hit."

Internet Insider was based on "KDKA Radio Online", a show developed during late 1994. It has been running since 1997 as a regional version of "Internet Insider." The first national show was August 7, 1999. The show is being fed to national radio station affiliates via the ABC Satellite. (That's the same satellite and transponder that carries Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh, two popular syndicated radio shows.) Listeners can call-in toll free every Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Eastern time by dialing 1-888-868-EASY - "the toll-free number that makes the Internet easy "!.
