PITTSBURGH - Merging Media, a Pittsburgh, PA based digital media entertainment company, has acquired M. Masters Corporation from David Radin. M. Masters runs the Insider Radio Network and produces the nationally syndicated ""Internet Insider" radio show.
"The Insider Radio Network fits perfectly into our plan to build a world-class entertainment company poised to take advantage of the growth of Internet and broadband content delivery." said Merging Media CEO Marco Cardamone. "This acquisition gives us a quality radio franchise, reach into the traditional radio industry, and a team of professionals that complements the skills of our in-place Merging Media staff. There is little overlap between the two organizations. This is a growth-driven transaction."
Cardamone and partner Barney Lee recently created Merging Media by spinning off the Pittsburgh operation of Internet professional services powerhouse marchFIRST, formerly USWeb/CKS. The Pittsburgh operation had provided digital media content development services and related support to marchFIRST clients, and to other marchFIRST offices.
According to David Radin, host of Internet Insider and founder of M. Masters Corporation, "This transaction works on a number of levels. We'll be looking to support Merging Media efforts with our radio network and production capabilities. Plus, with Merging Media's help, we expect to expand our existing radio franchise into other media, as well as take full advantage of the continued growth of Internet multimedia"The radio operation will be operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Merging Media, under the new corporate name "Internet Radio Corporation", with the public name continuing as "The Insider Radio Network". David Radin will stay on as Director of Radio Operations and host of the flagship radio show.
There will be no layoffs caused by this transaction. All existing M. Masters personnel will move from current offices in Mt. Lebanon, PA into offices in the Merging Media Terminal Buildings located in Pittsburgh's historic South Side.
