Naked Wife

The Naked Wife virus, also known as Naked, Naked@mm or JibJab, proliferates through an attachment masquerading as a flash movie depicting naked pictures of someone's wife. The email's attachment will be named NakedWife.exe. The worm operates like most that try to take advantage of Microsoft Outlook's address book, by attempting to mail itself to each entry. Once it has made this attempt, the virus will attempt to delete several important Windows system files, rendering Windows unusable.

When first executed, the worm opens a window that appears to be a loading Flash movie. Meanwhile, in the background, the worm attempts to send itself to everyone in the Microsoft Outlook address book. The virus then attempts to delete any files in the Windows\System folder that have these file extensions: DLL, INI, EXE, BMP, LOG and COM. If the virus executes, it will effectively disable Windows and require a reinstallation of the operating system.

Here is a summary of the virus's characteristics:
  • Email Subject: Fw: Naked Wife

  • Attachment Name: NakedWife.exe

  • Body:
    > My wife never look like that! ;-)
    Best Regards,
    [UserName]

[UserName] will be replaced by the username that was used when registering MS Outlook.
Choosing [About] from the [Help] menu in the "Flash" window displays a message box entitled, "Flash," which reads:
"You're are now F**KED! © 2001 by BGK (Bill Gates Killer)"
